What rubbish don’t we deal with?
As you can imagine, all the items we clear aren’t listed above, but what we would be better off telling you is what we won’t clear. Essentially we are unable to deal with any waste that falls into the hazardous bracket, which includes the likes of chemicals or medical waste – Asbestos is included in this as well, we but we do have an alternative asbestos removal service, if required.
The reason we are unable to handle this type of waste is the specific licences and training required around handling and disposal, but this doesn’t mean that we won’t consider it in the future.
The Cost of Our Waste Clearance Service
Let’s cut to the chase, as you can imagine, the most common question is “how much does it cost?” – but that’s really hard to answer without knowing the full detail of the job at hand, there are a few main things that we consider when it comes to quoting for our removal service, and here are the two main ones:
Waste Type
Removing a collection of refuse sacks is much easier and requires less resources than, say removing a large dining room table, so this can have a large effect on the amount of staff we have to have attend the job and therefore impact on cost.
Waste Volume
As you can imagine, the largest impact on cost is the volume of waste as this can affect the amount of staff, the time taken & the vehicle that is required.
The location also impacts the cost, as you can imagine in different parts of the country the cost of labour varies slightly, Bristol included. Typically waste collections are charged based the above factors, rather than a cost per hour.
To give you an idea, here are a few examples of different load sizes and roughly what they cost – although please keep in mind these are just estimates and will vary.
Small Load
£35-40
Approx 2 cubic yards -
A small load with no large items
Medium Load
£60-90
3-5 Cubic yards -
A good amount of refuse sacks and a few medium sized appliances
Large Load
£300+
12+ Cubic yards -
A large load, typically a full vans worth or more
We’ve written a far more comprehensive blog on this subject which you can see on here on our “How Much Does Rubbish Clearance Cost?” post.
We want to stress that these costs are estimates and we require a detailed explanation of what waste you need collected to be able to provide you with an accurate quote, as there can be extra fees that will need to be discussed. If you want a further idea on prices, we’ve written “How Much Does Rubbish Clearance Cost?” which is a more comprehensive guide.

Environmentally Compliant
Bristol has a good recycling rate for the city, at 45.6% of all waste – exceeding the national average by 5.3%, which is impressive, and we plan on having a positive effect on this figure – we are an extremely environmentally conscious company.
Waste Transfer Notes
A waste transfer note (WTN) is an official document used to record the transfer of waste from one party to another, ensuring compliance with legal regulations for waste management. It provides a detailed record of the waste being moved, who it is being transferred from and to, and how it will be disposed of or treated – we can provide this when requested.

Questions About The Day
We know that you may have a few lasting questions about what actually happens on the clearance day when the team arrives. We’re happy to answer a few of the most common ones for you below:
Do I need to be at the property during the clearance?
No – but please do let us know beforehand as we will have to arrange a method of clearing the waste, whether that is a key lock box or placing the waste in a certain place. It’s something we need to discuss in further detail with you, but we can cater for a lot of circumstances.
How long will the clearance usually take?
It really depends on the amount of waste you have at the property and it’s accessibility as to timeframes, and we would like to discuss the job in further detail with you before confirming this – however, just to give you a rough idea, we would expect a smaller clearance job of just a few refuse sacks to take as little as an hour or two and medium clearances with refuse sacks and a couple of larger appliances around 2-4 hours, as an example.
Will the waste need to be in a particular location?
Not necessarily, as long as the waste is accessible for our team when we arrive and safe for us to do so, then it shouldn’t require any assistance from your side – that’s why you pay us, right?
