What won’t we clear?
Under our Rubbish & Clearance service we won’t deal with any hazardous waste, this includes the likes of chemical or medical waste – we also won’t remove asbestos with this service, but we do offer asbestos removal but that is a completely separate service and different team.
Why? Hazardous waste requires special handling, licences and specific disposal that we just aren’t currently equipped to be able to provide.
The Cost of Rubbish Clearance & Waste Removal
We know the question you really want to know is how much it’s going to cost to complete the rubbish removal – that’s what it comes down to, right? It’s hard to provide you with a direct answer to this without knowing the scale of the job, and as a further note it’s important to make it clear to us the size of the job so we can provide an accurate quote.
There are essentially two major factors that affect the cost of the job.
Waste Volume
The amount of waste is the main factor that goes into the cost, it increases labour hours and also affects the transport vehicle required, and amount of staff.
Waste Type
Depending on what the waste is, that can also affect the cost, larger or hazardous items can be a lot more expensive to dispose of, so that is reflected in the quote.
How we typically quote is by the two factors above, and the rate of labour. In Birmingham we charge £60 per hour for labour, but this can also be impacted by a few factors, such as if you need large items removed then it may require more staff members to attend and therefore increase costs.
To give you an idea of what the cost may be, we have provided a few examples of costs for different size jobs:
Small Load
£60
1 cubic yard -
A small amount of waste, no large appliances
Medium Load
£180
6 cubic yards -
A few large appliances like washing machines or fridge freezers
Large Load
£400+
16 cubic yards -
Several larger items like washing machine, fridge freezers, dishwashers etc.
But we have to stress these are just very rough estimates, please provide us with an in depth description about the amount of waste you need removed and the type, and we will be able to provide you with an accurate quote.
We also have a more detailed rubbish clearance cost guide that you can read for further information.
Availability - Same Day Removal
We always do our best to try and fit our customers in at the time and date they request, and on occasions we are able to provide same day removal, depending on our availability at the time. We also partner with several companies in the Birmingham area, so even if we aren’t able to provide our service for your required day, we can often utilise our network to provide a solution.
The demand for service tends to be higher and creates longer wait times in the peak of the summer holidays, and weekends or evenings are highly requested.
The best way to ensure our availability is booking in advance – but we are always as flexible as possible, so please get in touch.
Our Clearance & Removal Process
If you’re looking at booking our rubbish or removal service in Birmingham, then it’s worth knowing about how our process works, so we’ll take you through it step by step!
1. Enquire & Quotation
Once you’ve filled out our contact form for your clearance needs we will get in touch with you to discuss the type and volume of waste as well as certain details like your Birmingham address as well as the time and date for the clearance.
We will use all this information to provide you with a quote for the service, please provide us with accurate information as it may affect your quotation.
2. Preparation
Depending on our conversation around the type of waste that you have, we will also ask questions about how accessible it is for the team. We may ask you to sort certain parts of the waste into categories to help with our recycling and disposal process.
3. The Big Day - Clearance & Removal
We will arrive at the property on the time and date scheduled. The team will conduct a small pre-assessment of the waste, and just ensure that it’s the same scale that had been described and agreed prior – then that’s it, they will get to work removing the waste and loading it in the vehicle.
Leaving you with a clean and tidy home!
4. Disposal
We will dispose of the waste in an environmentally friendly way to a licensed waste facility – following all the relevant regulations and guidelines. In Birmingham there are several waste centers that we use depending on your location, they are based in Tyseley, Perry Barr, Kings Norton, Sutton Coldfield & Castle Bromwich.
It’s really that simple!

About The Clearance Day
We’ve detailed what happens on the day in our earlier clearance and removals process, but we understand that you might have a couple more questions about the actual day itself – here are a few of our most common.
How long will it take?
We always try and clear and remove the unwanted rubbish from your property as soon as possible. The description of the waste in the initial phone call is essential to this, as it allows us to plan and provide you with accurate timings prior to the day.
In general, a small clearance should only take an hour or two, a medium clearance is more like 2-4 hours but a large clearance can be anything from a full day to several. This will all be clarified prior to booking.
Do I need to be home?
No, but please let us know that you won’t be beforehand. We can often work around your requirements, and we understand that customers have busy lives, and sitting in and watching our waste removal team at work may not be your idea of fun. If you let us know, we will work to arrange some kind of solution that works for both parties.
Will I need to gather the waste in a certain location, say outside?
Generally speaking, no, we won’t ask you to do anything as long as the waste is easily and safely accessible for our team – on occasions we may ask you to group certain items together to help with the disposal but we will discuss the possibility of this prior.
