Aside from just the amount of waste, there are a lot of other factors that can impact the overall cost of the removal service – but we’ll dive into that a bit later in this article.
How much does rubbish removal cost?
So, with keeping all that in mind, we know that you’ve come to this page to figure out how much you can expect to pay – just to get an initial idea of how much it may cost before trying to plan too far ahead.

Tip: Before agreeing to go ahead with any quote, always ask for the full detail of what it will include, make sure it’s all inclusive before agreeing.
But I’ve found much cheaper quotes…
We hear this a LOT, and we would say be cautious when choosing a company that looks too good to be true – and we’re not just saying that to win your business!
Now, they may be a completely legitimate company but there are a few things that you should watch out for:
Hidden Fees
Sometimes companies offer a low initial price, but will charge additional extras for larger items, access restrictions, labour costs and disposal fees.
Illegal Dumping
If it’s extremely cheap, then you may want to question how they dispose of the waste and ensure they have a waste carrier licence ID.
Poor Service
This kind of goes without saying, you pay cheap, you get cheap. It’s likely they could be pretty slapdash, so make sure to check their genuine reviews online.
Poor Environmental Practice
They may not recycle property, and instead just send all the waste to landfill because it’s quicker and easier to do.
What impacts cost?
Before we go any further, we need to continue to stress that the prices we quoted above are very rough quotes…

Another significant factor that you need to consider is where you live…

Factors you should consider
Hopefully up until this point we’ve given you a pretty comprehensive idea of how much a variety of different waste removal jobs may cost – but there are a few other factors that you should consider outside of just the price.
Just click the factors below for further detail:
When evaluating a company to choose, you should care about their environmental impact and what they take into consideration. You want to ensure that the company are doing everything they can to achieve a high recycling rate, above that of the local area you live in – most local councils have this data on their websites.
Make sure that the company separates the waste into recyclable and non recyclable material, and put aside any hazardous materials. You may also want to ask them what they do to reduce their carbon footprint, if you want to go that bit further and ensure they are eco-friendly.
It’s a busy industry, especially at certain times of the year – so choosing a company that has available is essential, but easier said than done. You might find that some of the companies with better reputations and lower prices, you just have to wait for.
We always recommend looking at a company’s Trustpilot & Google Reviews. Read through all the positive reviews, of course, but undoubtedly there will be and should be negatives – no one is perfect, and here’s where you can actually make a good judgement on potential issues, and importantly how they have answered and handled the critic.
Lastly, one that often slips the mind is payment options. It’s something you may need to consider, if you choose a large national company then it’s not going to be a problem paying on your debit or credit card – however for some smaller businesses they may operate on a cash basis but be cautious with this and always make sure that you get a receipt of the work.
Some waste removal companies have even been known to have pay later, finance options & even Klarna for larger jobs – so it may be worth looking around if that’s your preference.
