Community Liaison Group
The Welbeck Community Liaison Committee was established in 1999 to encourage interested community representatives to raise and discuss issues relating to the landfill site and for WRG to provide updates on how the site is being progressed.
The membership of the Welbeck Community Liaison Committee represents the following:
- Relevant ward members (councillors) of Wakefield MDC
- Relevant officials from Wakefield MDC
- The Environment Agency
- Waste Recycling Group
- Each local parish/town council
- Relevant residents/community groups close to Welbeck
In addition to the committee meetings, WRG
organises open days and site tours for interested members of the public
to attend.

Compost
We operate compost plants throughout the UK, and compost over 100,000
tonnes every year.
The compost produced finds a variety of end users; restoration of our own landfill sites, some is returned to our local authority partners, and, increasingly it is used for the manufacture of top quality soils and bagged compost for the retail sector.
