Recycling
Both Hull and East Riding operate kerbside collections of mixed dry recyclables which are then taken by WRG to two Municipal Waste Recycling Facilities (MRF) for further separation and processing back into valuable raw materials for reuse.
In addition WRG recovers around 75% of all the different kinds of waste brought by the public to the 14 Household Waste Recycling Centres situated throughout the two authorities.
WRG works closely with HER to seek to continually improve the recycling facilities available at the HWRC's and working together, three new sites have been constructed in Hull in recent years. An improvement programme for other older sites is also being developed.

Compost
We operate compost plants throughout the UK, and compost over 100,000
tonnes every year.
The compost produced finds a variety of end users; restoration of our own landfill sites, some is returned to our local authority partners, and, increasingly it is used for the manufacture of top quality soils and bagged compost for the retail sector.
