Eastcroft Consultations
Waste Recycling Group submitted a revised planning application to extend capacity at Eastcroft in August 2007.
Planning Application
Waste Recycling Group originally submitted a planning application to extend capacity at Eastcroft to Nottingham City Council. The application was refused by the Council's Planning Committee on 20th September 2006. Subsequently WRG lodged an appeal but then decided to withdraw the appeal and prepare a new planning application to address the Council's concerns. A new planning application based on new design proposals was submitted in August 2007.
The new application remained unchanged in terms of the capacity of the extended plant, the technology employed and the management of potential transport, environmental and health impacts.
WRG was later told that Nottingham City Council would not be ready to consider the Eastcroft application until at least March 2008. As the sixteen week period in which local planning authorities are expected to determine major planning applications had already passed by that stage, WRG lodged an appeal in December 2007.
The application is currently before the Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government on appeal (Reference APP/Q3060/A/08/2063129/NWF). For further information about the Public Inquiry please click on the attachment below.
WRG submitted amendments to the planning application, which is subject to appeal, to the Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government on 8th May 2008.
The amendments to the planning application consist of:
(a) Five amended application plans (changes to key, text and cross-references); and
